About Me
Hi everybody, my name is Cindy Peña. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I am currently a graduate student at Hunter College pursuing a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Early Childhood Education. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Brooklyn College in 2017. I currently hold certification in Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education. I realized that I wanted to work with the younger children when I started working in a classroom with two-year-olds. I noticed that at this younger age is when you are helping children develop skills that they will, ideally, hold onto forever. I decided to go for the bilingual approach because of two reasons. The first being that I am bilingual and the second because three years ago, I started working in a Spanish Immersion Pre-K classroom. There I grew a passion for teaching in Spanish because it gives me another opportunity to connect with my students.
